Yorkville Toronto Condos Cumberland Terrace 2 Bloor Street West
The latest proposal for Cumberland Terrace is to re-develop the site as an L-shaped structure consisting of a 7 storey podium housing retail and a hotel which would connect to a 70 storey residential condo tower at Bay & Cumberland streets. At the other end, at Yonge & Bloor, the 34 storey CIBC office tower would be taken down and an 85 storey residential condo tower would be put in its place. Note: this proposal is still in the intial planning stages and subject to change as it has not yet been formally submitted to the City of Toronto.
In 2010 City Council approved plans to re-develop the site that consisted of the erection of 3 buildings:
Podium Building, a 7 storey building which included commercial space at street level, 4 levels of parking above it. The building was to feature 20 residential condominium units known as rooftop villas and house rooftop gardens and outdoor amenity space for condominium residents in the two towers that rise from the structure.
Yonge Tower, a 36 storey residential condominium building at the corner of Yonge and Cumberland Streets with 196 units.
Cumberland Tower, a 48 storey residential condominium building located mid-block on Cumberland Street with 340 units.
